Invitation to participate in the VCM Global Dialogue global stakeholder consultation – closes 11 Oct 2021
On 28 September the Voluntary Carbon Market Global Dialogue launched its draft Narrative and Action Agenda on how the global community can mobilise the full potential of the VCM to help meet the goals of the Paris Agreement.
Including contributions from BVRio Director, Pedro Moura Costa, the document identifies how voluntary carbon markets can support national and local climate plans, serve developing countries’ preferences and needs, and unlock greater levels of private investment, while strengthening the rights of and opportunities for local communities in developing countries.
The current draft Action Agenda is based on extensive stakeholder consultations with over 350 supply-side stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region, Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean in June and July 2021.
Before finalising and launching the Action Agenda, the VCM Global Dialogue is now hosting a public consultation process with VCM stakeholders worldwide to validate, enrich and socialize the findings. VCM stakeholders, including project developers, civil society, credit buyers and governments, are now invited to contribute to the global consultation.
