Circular Action Team Expanded

BVRio’s circular action team has expanded this month with the addition of two new members of staff, who will increase capacity and help further develop services for both producers looking for ways to meet EPR and CSER commitments and local waste management initiatives.

Marijn Bergsma, who is based in the Netherlands, takes up the new position of Director of Finance for Circular Action, where he will oversee fundraising and business development.Marijn Bergsma

Marijn has considerable experience in social entrepreneurship as a founder & investor, and was previously part of the founding team of two fin-tech startups in West and East Africa serving informal sector workers, building and leading international teams. He is also a Board member of the Informal Sector Pension Foundation.

Joining the team in Brazil as an intern is Juliana Miranda, who will support the Brazil circular action team with its current marine debris and plastics collection projects.

Juliana MirandaJuliana is an Environmental Science student at Universidade Federal Fluminense in Rio de Janeiro, with a background working in social entrepreneurship projects with socially vulnerable women and environmental education within schools, besides having done an internship in a pension fund in the area of responsible investments.

BVRio, via its company Circular Action BV, is currently developing a number of Circular Action Programmes (CAPS) for corporates using the innovative new mobile app, KOLEKT, to manage and monitor waste recovered from the environment as it moves through the supply chain, from informal collectors, to recycling centres.
